Arnold Development Consultants commenced operation in the early 1960’s, with founders Stephen John Arnold and Michael David George Arnold opening a Brisbane based Town Planning and Land Surveying firm. During the next few years, work steadily increased on the Gold Coast making it essential to open a Gold Coast Office in the late 1960’s. In the first 4 decades the Brisbane and Gold Coast Offices operated under the personal supervision of the founding directors Michael Arnold and Stephen Arnold respectively which ensured it kept its family business base.
In the 1990’s Stephen’s sons, Matthew Stephen Arnold and Michael Geoffrey Arnold, followed in their Father’s footsteps both studying surveying at the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Southern Queensland respectively. Both Matthew and Michael went on to become Registered Cadastral Surveyors. Michael also undertook formal studies in town planning at Queensland University of Technology and in 1998 became a Corporate Member of Planning Institute Australia PIA and later a Certified Practicing Planner CPP in 2006.
In 1996, Arnold & Arnold re-launched as Arnold Development Consultants (ADC) to focus on its integrated approach to Land Development Consultancy, employing both Surveyors and Town Planners. Not long after the re-launch, Stephen decided to retire from the family business and Matthew left to pursue other interests.
In 2011 ADC broadened its geographical base for service provision by opening the Central Queensland Office in Gladstone (now Rockhampton) adding to its existing Brisbane and Gold Coast Offices. With offices in Brisbane and Gold Coast, ADC’s service provision coverage has never been so convenient to our long-standing clients and never so attractive to prospective new clients.
ADC is now lead by Michael Geoffrey Arnold who has strengthened and kept the firm at the forefront of the Planning and Surveying disciplines. Michael has over 25 years of land titling, land surveying, town planning and urban design experience. Michael is now joined by Survey Manager Dave Howe and Planning Manager Steve Crow. Dave Howe who joined ADC in 2001 has 40 years of land surveying experience in Queensland and internationally. Steve Crow joined ADC in 2013 and has 30 years of town planning experience (strategic and statutory) in Australia and internationally.
ADC’s leadership team have been able to continue strengthening Arnold Development Consultants and achieve sustainable economic growth through service diversity and integration, hassle free and on time service delivery and a willingness to help others.
ADC has subdivided over 25,000 blocks of land and in turn this has housed on conservative estimates over 120,000 Queenslanders. We continue to build on this strong record through our clients, ranging from State and Local Government departments, large freehold and community title subdivisions, construction surveying of hundreds of homes per annum, private and public infrastructure and civil projects as well as change in land use and land development strategies.
At ADC we are very proud of our associations. We value the business relationships we have built. We strive to exceed our client’s expectations. We look forward to strengthening our associations and relationships for the next 50 years.
