At Arnolds, we’re passionate about helping young people discover the opportunities available within the surveying industry.
Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Blake, a student from St Michael’s College, who joined our surveying team for work experience to gain a firsthand look at life as a Land Surveyor.
Throughout his placement, Blake was given the opportunity to work alongside our experienced surveyors on a variety of real projects across South East Queensland. Rather than simply observing, he was able to get involved in practical fieldwork and experience the day-to-day responsibilities that make surveying such a rewarding profession.
During his time with us, Blake assisted the team with:
- Construction set-out surveys
- Contour and detail surveys
- Operating surveying equipment under supervision
- Learning how survey data is collected and used to support development projects
Experiencing surveying in the field allows students to better understand the important role surveyors play in shaping communities. From preparing sites for construction to capturing accurate ground information, every project begins with quality survey data.
At Arnolds, we believe investing in the next generation is essential for the future of our industry. Providing work experience opportunities helps students connect classroom learning with real-world applications while giving them valuable insight into potential career pathways.
We’d like to thank Blake for his enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and positive attitude throughout his placement. It was fantastic having him as part of the team, and we wish him every success as he continues his studies and explores future career opportunities.
If you’re interested in a career in land surveying or town planning, we’d love to hear from you. Supporting the next generation of industry professionals is something we’re proud to be part of.
