Yesterday our team was on site in Southport carrying out a Commercial Lease Survey for a block comprising approximately eight tenancies, including a three-level tenancy at the rear of the site.
The process involved:
- Locating and confirming the external building footprint in relation to the property boundaries
- Calculating the floor area of each tenancy within the confines of the primary building
- Measuring internal wall thicknesses between tenancies
- Preparing detailed sketches with calculated areas for each unit
Once complete, the survey information is handed over to Dave, our survey drafter, to prepare the first draft. From there, the plans go through a detailed QA process involving at least two surveyors to ensure everything is accurate, compliant, and consistent across all tenancies.
This step-by-step approach is critical for commercial lease surveys, providing clear, reliable floor area figures that landlords, tenants, and agents can confidently rely on. A solid team effort from start to finish and another great project completed. 👏📊
